Velorbola (velorbola.com) is a Georgian cycling website. We try to collect as little information about you as possible. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.

Who we are

The data controller is the Velorbola editorial team.

What we collect

Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address. We use it only to send you Velorbola updates. We never sell or share it.

Contact form. If you write to us, we store your name, email address, subject and message so that we can reply.

Data from both forms is stored only in our website’s database. The forms do not store your IP address or browser details.

Security. The site is protected by Wordfence. To detect and block attacks, it logs login attempts and blocked requests, including IP addresses. This is necessary to keep the site and its readers safe.

Hosting. The site is hosted on Hostinger servers. Like any web server, it briefly keeps technical logs of visits (IP address, time, requested page).

What we don’t do: we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, we don’t run visitor analytics, and we don’t build profiles of our readers.

Cookies

  • wp-wpml_current_language — remembers your language choice (Georgian / English); duration — 1 day.
  • privacy_embeds — remembers your choice about YouTube videos; duration — 6 months.

These cookies are needed for the site to work and contain no other information about you.

YouTube videos

Some articles include YouTube videos. Until you give your consent, only a notice is shown in place of the video and no connection is made to YouTube — neither the video nor its preview image is loaded. Once you consent, the video loads in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and from that moment Google’s Privacy Policy applies. You can change your choice at any time at the bottom of this page.

Fonts

The site’s fonts are served from our own server. No connection to Google Fonts or any other external service is made for this.

How long we keep data

  • Newsletter address — until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact messages — 1 year after we reply, then deleted.
  • Security logs — for a short period, according to Wordfence settings.

Who we share data with

We don’t sell or share your data with third parties, except the technical partners that keep the site running (hosting — Hostinger; security — Wordfence), or where required by law.

Your rights

Under Georgia’s Law on Personal Data Protection (and, for readers in the EU, the GDPR), you have the right to:

  • find out what data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time (for example, unsubscribe from the newsletter);
  • lodge a complaint with Georgia’s Personal Data Protection Service.

We may update this policy when needed. The date of the latest update is always shown at the top of this page.
